On occasion, you may be asked to pay for access to a scholarly article. You probably don't need to!

There are many reasons why the article may appear to be unavailable.

  • It may not be available in electronic format. You can check the library catalog, discoverE to see if the libraries have a print copy of the journal available.
  • If you are searching for articles in a database, sometimes one database will have a particular issue and another won't, so don't forget to look carefully to see which years are included in the database you're searching.

Check the journal name in our eJournals holdings to see what electronic access we have.

If the article isn't available through the Emory Libraries, request it from Interlibrary Loan.

Don't forget, you can always ask a librarian for help!
