Q. How do I find New York Times articles for a specific date?

Go directly to the New York Times in the Proquest Newspapers database. It contains the New York Times back to 1851:

1. Choose ADVANCED search.
2. In the search box, type in your search terms.
3. Below the search box, there is a Publication Date option. Choose "On this date" and select the date you want.
4. Select the article you want, and Proquest gives you the option to cite it in a number of formats.
